Solstice Greetings!
This evening marks the Winter’s Solstice, and as such, I just wanted to pop on here and wish everyone a joyous one!
I’ve been a bit puny the last couple of weeks – more health stuff (shocker) – but I am doing my best to rally and get back to it…
I would like to take this opportunity to say a very humble and heartfelt THANK YOU to all of you who have sent me wishlist items, donations, helped me with groceries, and… shared my links. Realistically, there is absolutely no way I could have made it through this past year without the support of so many kind and wonderful people. I’m forever in your debt, and promise to do my best to get in a position to someday be able to pay it forward. That’s the dream, anyway!
Thanks to the generosity of others, I am going to be able to move forward with producing proper YouTube content in the coming year. It may or may not ever amount to anything, but if I can use it as a sister platform to my blog here to raise awareness and foster compassion/empathy towards people with chronic illness and/or mental health challenges – then I’ll feel like I’ve done my job! I am already making some videos, drafting some outlines for episodes, etc… so progress is already happening behind the scenes. I’m also learning to use a GoPro and a couple of other pieces of equipment that are new to me – but I feel like I’ll catch on quickly. I’m excited, and that always bodes well when one goes to learn new things.
I am also looking forward to doing some English/Language arts tutoring in the New Year! I have a student lined up, and I’ll be starting lessons with them 3x a week in January. The client is someone who I consider to be “chosen family”, so the stakes are super high – in that I love this kiddo so much, and want to make sure I can help give them the support they need to fly high and conquer their world. I have no doubt that they have what it takes – I just hope that *I* am going to be “good enough” for them. (Yes, I definitely have inner struggles with impostor syndrome… grrrr… working on that!)
I have a few holiday decorations up this year – making the place look a bit more merry. Last year was slap-dash at best, as I was grieving the death of my Dad, and my health was still REALLY horrible… but many good things have come about this year. I’ve taken a lot of little “baby steps” towards my health, and I hope (and believe) that over time they will pay off in spades!
I’ll keep this brief, but I want to wish you all a very happy holiday season – whatever holiday(s) you do or do not observe… just… BE HAPPY, BE WELL, BE SAFE, and MAY YOU ALWAYS KNOW LOVE….
