Autumnal Colours from a Wheelchair Perspective
I went outside this morning because it was a bit overcast, which makes for some nice light for taking photos. I wanted to get a few snaps of the warm, rich, autumnal colours that I’m starting to see at my house in the Tennessee Valley. Unfortunately, my vantage point only goes as far as whatever I can see from my driveway because of the wheelchair, but I managed to get a few little shots. I wish I could go somewhere else to take more photos, but as I am home-bound and restricted to the chair, it makes it pretty much impossible.
Photography is a nice escape for me. It can sometimes be a positive distraction whenever I am dealing with mental health challenges, or the chronic pain I often experience as a result of my autoimmune conditions. My camera stuff is a little older, and my lenses aren’t very good… but I do the best I can. I’d give anything to have a nice Canon L-glass lens someday. For someone living below the poverty level on disability though, I think that’s going to just have to remain a dream. 😜
Anyway, I seem to be in the midst of an autoimmune flare, as well as battling an infection (I was at the hospital a couple of nights ago, and am now on meds for it – hopefully that issue will be sorted soon). Getting outside this morning was a lovely (albeit temporary) distraction from the pain. I’ll probably spend the rest of the afternoon with heating pads and just laying low.
Happy Fall, y’all… I hope you enjoy this little slideshow.
